But you can also adjust the sideways angle of the neck in the pocket to put more fretboard under the string. I always adjust mine to put more wood under the top-E than the bottom-E. Make sure that the string is secure, but not totally down inside the string groove, if it is less than half of the string below the top of the nut, then you should have the nut recut for that string. easy answering machine
