WebI just want to print ls -l the same way it looks from the command line (each file on a new line). I have looked every where for a solution and know my solution should work but for some reason it doesn't. Basically, the new line characters are not saved in the variable when cut is run in a csh script. So we add a newline character using awk. echo in csh doesn't understand the \n character, even with -e option. So we can just use printf.
