My process: use filter command, select polylines, window the area, hit enter, then explode. use join command, window area, hit enter. mouse over boundary, it will highlight the polyline segments and give you a pretty good idea of the gap/overlap.

Try changing the hatch gap tolerance which is normally set at 0.00 to something much higher. The max setting is 5,000.
